Whether you’re a first-time shooter taking your initial steps into the world of firearms or a seasoned enthusiast looking to refine your marksmanship, our state-of-the-art pistol and rifle facilities provide the perfect setting to improve accuracy, learn proper techniques, and enjoy your time on the range with confidence. Our dedicated staff prioritizes safety above all, offering expert guidance and strict adherence to best practices to ensure every visit is both enjoyable and secure.
At Bridgeport Conservation Club, members and guests alike can take advantage of well-maintained ranges designed to accommodate various shooting disciplines, fostering a supportive community centered on education, respect, and the shared passion for shooting sports. Whether you seek casual target practice, competitive shooting, or specialized training, our range offers the space and resources to help you achieve your goals responsibly and effectively.
Pistol and Rifle Range Features:
- Multiple Shooting Distances: 7, 25, 50, and 100 yards, allowing for both short-range training and longer-distance practice.
- Covered Shooting Area: Stay protected from the elements while staying focused on your marksmanship.
- Paper Targets Only: Sturdy target stands are available at clearly designated distances. All targets must be placed directly in front of the backstop to ensure safety.
- Well-Maintained Grounds: Our pistol range is kept in top condition by club members and volunteers who take pride in providing a clean and enjoyable environment.
Membership-Only Access:
The pistol and rifle range is available to Bridgeport Conservation Club members and their guests only. Members may bring a guest for a small fee of $5 per visit. All guests must remain under direct supervision of the member at all times.
Operating Hours:
- Monday–Saturday: 9:00 AM to dusk
- Sunday: 12:00 PM to dusk
- Wednesdays (Summer Only): Range closes at 5:00 PM for trap shooting activities
Pistol Range Safety Rules:
- Treat all firearms as if they are loaded at all times.
- Keep muzzles pointed downrange and fingers off the trigger until ready to fire.
- Unload firearms when not actively shooting.
- Always raise the red safety flag at the firing line when the range is in use.
- No shooting is allowed while other shooters are downrange.
- All brass, targets, and debris must be cleaned up after use.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed on range premises.
- Shooters under age 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Important Guidelines:
- Only paper targets are allowed. No glass, cans, or other debris-producing targets.
- Firearms must be legal and in safe working condition. Fully automatic weapons require board approval before use.
- All shooters must sign in at the range log before shooting.
- Failure to follow range rules can result in suspension or removal from the club.
Improve Your Skills, Join the Community
Our pistol and rifle range is ideal for skill development, self-defense training, and recreational fun. In addition, we offer Concealed Pistol License (CPL) classes and various training opportunities throughout the year, so you can continue to grow as a responsible firearm owner.
